So i started driving today and i noticed that my battery light would flash every once in a while. It randomly flashes and random flashes a different number of time. I did notice that when i was in 3rd gear and continuing to cruise, everytime the battery light came on, my car felt like it was choking and it felt weird.

I googled this problem and it appears that:

1) I may have a dying battery (but my battery recently died on me and i replaced this with an old battery from my intrepid. With my oem battery even when it was about to die, it did not flash the battery light)

2) alternator is about to go?

3) the charging system?

Anyone know what is going on?

check your battery terminals... if they're corroded or loose, it may do this
you should also have your alternator and battery tested

might be a alternator problem ben since once the car is on its what keeps the charge going or you have a loose wire on it check all the connections since when i had my civic the terminal would always come loose and die on me

this happened to me, and it ended up being the MAF wires that were getting cut slowly, after getting the wires were fixed, it was all good

what happened to me

Hmm, I just popped the hood earlier today and checked and my battery connection is perfectly fine. I do have a check engine light on though. The light comes on and off every now and then but its been staying on for the last 3 days. I have to get the code tomorrow morning and i'll post it on here but i'm afraid it may be the same issue as Thanu. Last time i had a code i think it was P1028 or something like that but i had something to do with the maf sensor i believe. I just tried to wiggle it a bit to see if it was loose or not and then reset the code. It was off for a whole month until last sunday when i went to buffalo and was driving in that big storm and as I drove through some puddles (no very deep but I do have a cai), it came on. After that it came on sometimes and sometimes it went off but I didnt really get a chance to check it. I just hope its not the wiring problem

Just scanned it before heading out and code is P0113. Now its time to find out what the high circuit code is. It has something to do with intake for sure. When I floored it today the battery light stayed on as I stopped at the light but then turned off as I accelerated

im pretty sure its exactly my problem, you are describing exactly the same symptoms i had.

The wiring isnt such a big issue tho, only cost me $40 to get it rewired

Oh. Did you car feel like it wanted to shut off everytime the light flashed? Its really hard to go see Jimmy since my work schedule does not accomodate. You think it's ok to drive it for 1 more week?

yea, when the light flashed, car choked, i would have to ease on the gas..

i drove it till it got really bad, in my case when some of the wires ripped more, and i could barely start up the car, and i couldnt go over 60kph. I would get it checked asap, because your gas consumption is going to suffer too
