Hand brake button rattle

(searched a bit and couldn't find anything here - if I missed it somewhere I apologize for new post)

The rattle from my E-brake handle release button is driving me fricken nuts! :bang I've got a stoopid elastic band wrapped around the button right now which helps a bit but I want to fix this. Does anyone else have a rattling hand brake button and did you fix it?

I'm sure I'll get encouragement to replace the handle and I am considering getting a subtle aftermarket handle. But would much rather have a stock handle that doesn't rattle, so mainly looking for feedback from ppl who've fixed the stock handle.

A lot of people have it. My old 04 didn't but my new 08.5 speed does. There are a few fixes out there if you search around M3F but I dont remember what they were off the top of my head.
