Hey guys!

Recently installed my new sound system and the only thing it's missing is a new HU.

- Infinity Reference 6830cs
Component system in the front

- Infinity Kappa 682.9cf in the back

- MB QUART ONX4.80/500 5 Channel Amp

- Alpine Type R 10" Sub

So I decided to keep the stock HU to retain the OEM look (it's a beauty)

I've seen some installs where people have mounted the aftermarket HU in the ashtray compartment, with custom brackets in guessing.

Anyone know anything about this? And how to go about doing it? Max dimensions allowed etc...

Let me know guys thanks alot!http://tapatalk.com/mu/63ee35d2-8bea-2e15.jpg

The second pic shows the deck mounted above the ashtray. But my plan is to do it where the ashtray is

huh, I've never seen this. Would be interested in seeing how it is done, especially from a wiring perspective. A lot of splicing will need to happen methinks. Good luck!

the downfall with the ashtray install, you loose your footwell hvac ducting up front, so all your a/c or heat, on the floor selector, gets routed in behind your deck in the void.

Thanks Bubba, that's actually a huge downfall. Can't imagine freezing my a$$ off during the winter....I'll have to try and figure out a way to retain that..
