View Full Version : Seat height Adjustments
Hi
My wife is now driving our Mazda 3 (2009) she is 5.6" and I need to find a way to raise the driver seat height without expending a lot of money.
I called Mazda and they say it would cost me over a 1000 bucks to add the height adjustment to the seat. But I'm not willing to pay that much.
I was thinking to add some washers to the bolts that hold metal base of the seat.
Any ideas?
What else can I do to raise the driver seat?
thanks
Alex

You could always get her a wedge seat cushion...

or swap seats for a used set with the height adjustment.
I've seen used sets go for approx $200 on here
I was thinking to add some washers to the bolts that hold metal base of the seat.
Washers won't help as the 4 mounting points are all in different angles. (the right rear bolt goes in sideways IIRC)
Thanks Guys,
I think that I'm more incline toward Default User suggestion. I will try to find a sit that already has the height adjustment. I think I should be able to detached the hardware and add it to my current seat.
Now my next step will be to try to find a seat :)

You might want to first check if the maximum height on those seats will actually do it. My wife is pretty much as short as yours, lol, and she always had to use a pillow until her current car.

The seat has a height adjustment, or is that only for the GT trim?

Is not that is hard to reach the pedals for her, is more about not having a good rear view when backing up or checking blind spots because she is so low in the seat. But at the same time is not she can't see either, is just more about me trying to make the seat a little higher so she can have a better view all around.

Well mirrors will make up for the sides. But what about a backup camera.

You can always get her one of those wide angle mirrors that give you a better view of the blindspots

my mom is shorter than I am and she had a rearview camera installed and has blind spot mirrors, you could always try that although much more expensive than a seat cushion! lol
