Hey all just wanted to share my review on my new AVH P3300BT deck that I bought from Dave2010GT who also installed it. First off I want to thank Dave who has been nothing but helpful in my decisions to upgrade my in car audio setup. Although this deck features DVD/USB support for DIVX/Movies/Music I am solely writing this review based on the iPhone aspects of it.
First off this Pioneer deck is specifically intended for iPhone/iPod/iTouch accessories. As earlier people have probably pointed out this deck has specific functions for apple products but is the most useful for an iPhone 4 user.
iPod mode, this mode is intended for all your music on your apple products. Everything on the decks screen is touch and very initiative . You can touch song/artist/album and instantly you are in a sub menu that displays which ever option you touched. (example you touch songs and you get a list of all your songs alphabetically, same for the rest) the touch screen if very responsive and looks beautiful in dash. There are a lot of features within iPod mode that makes using the deck a breeze.
App mode, This mode allows you to use video out enabled apps within the deck. For example as many you have seen posted already here you can have an app called motion X display navigation on your screen. Other apps available are netflix, vevo and youtube. I am sure more developers will release video out support in the future for more apps but those are the ones I have tried. if you have a jailbroken phone you can also use a cydia app called DISPLAY OUT that allows you to display your iPhone display on the decks screen, very neat feature but unfortunately you still need to use the phone to navigate anything displayed on the screen. Although I like App mode and think its a neat feature it still needs some work. for example, if you are in iPod mode playing music and you touch app mode on your deck it stops your music and audio is transferred to the app. (I feel the music should continue playing in iPod mode unless you open an app that requires video/audio ex. netflix, vevo or youTube) Also when you are using an app in app mode and you answer a call, after the call is done it will boot you out of your app and you have to re open it on your iPhone. (it should automatically resume your app) What I m finding is I will only use app mode when I want to play video. For navigation I prefer leaving the deck in iPod mode and mounting my iPhone on my vents so i can still see the map but also hear the voice directions over my music.

the only thing I don't like is the phone seems to overheat with the sun beating down on it and it recharging connected to the deck. but I could also buy a mount that fits into the cigarette lighter. I will see how this works first.
Pandora mode, what can I say? beautiful! the only complaint I have is sometimes it takes longer to connect to pandora since I have to go through a VPN server to connect. Really hope pandora becomes available in Canada someday soon. Also I cant seem to figure out how to navigate pandora stations not in my favorites. Love this mode..
This Pioneer deck is a must have for any iPhone/iPod users looking to integrate their apple products with their deck. Although you can use iPods/iTouch's with this deck it really shines when an iPhone is used and you have data. The deck has its issues but I am confident some of them will get resolved with firmware updates. What I think it really needs is support for multitasking since playing music is the main use for this deck.
Now as for as how good this deck is as a replacement to your stock setup, amazing. lots of options with in the deck for different sound set ups, equalizer presets and 3 preouts for all your audio needs. Although atm I only have my stock speakers hooked up, I am installing 2 component front speakers/2 rear speakers/1 4 channel amp/1 mono amp/ and 1 sub in the near future. Even with the stock speakers I have noticed a considerable difference in sound and found the having an equalizer I can tune a better sound with my stockies. I am looking forward to hearing this thing with everything installed..
Thanks
