i bought on sale 2 sets of alpine SPS-517 speakers and replaced the stocks from and 07 sedan and they sound good. i was told if i put in a amp it would help power them better and help increase the sound. i don't want to put in a sub in my trunk as i need all the trunk space, so would installing an amp with no sub actually prove anything??
thanks:D

Installing a 4 channel amp to power your upgraded door speakers will make a significant difference.

someone correct me if im wrong, but it would be ideal to have 4 channels bc you have 4 speakers, as opposed to splitting a 2 channel/mono across 4 speakers
the idea is that the amp, will amplify the "sound" and thus provide more power to your speakers and therefore "better" and louder sound output from your upgraded speakers. therefore to maximize that output you want to have a 4 channel amp - 1channel per speaker

That is what I was thinking, 1 channel per speaker.
So I guess to I would also need to go get a wiring kit and the other kit to hook up to the stock head unit?

If you had a sub I would suggest you not even amp the rears since the rears barely make a difference. You need to run a 4/ch amp. Simple as that. Find one that can handle the RMS rating of the speakers and then price a few out.
Also make sure everything is grounded correctly and speaker/RCA wires are run on the opposite side and away from the power line, otherwise you may get some engine whine.

Thanks for all the advice
Any advice on a reasonably priced 4 channel amp to get?
