How often do you guys get ur door panels (hinges/locks) lubricated? I went to this car detail shop to get paint sealant on before winter for $100. The guy there told me to first get rust protection for $100 on door panels before i get paint sealant. I was like how does it make a difference? Paint sealant is for exterior. My car is only a year old.

I would say just get a can of silicone based lubricant and spray the hinges whenever you feel like it. Theres no point in paying someone to spray lubricant on your door hinges.

U should have got rust proofing done instead of the paint sealent - wtf is that anyways ?

If u take ur car to the dealerships / other places like oil changers , Midas for oil changes - I've seen then spray the door jams and locks with lube

If you want a seal your paint surface, give your car a good coat of Carnuba Wax.

For the seats, if they are fabric, buy a big can of Scotch Gaurd spray.

I will take my car to Krown for more rust protection.

I don't pay anyone to do simple things, I've got a pair of hands and a good heart beat..lol

When are people going to learn that so called paint sealant is just one more scam to part gullible people from their hard earned cash. All you car needs basically is a regular coat of good quality wax.

Any dealership, shop or ol change place should lubricate latches and hinges for free if you ask.
