After picking up a set of 17" GT Rims from a fellow member Marc, and doing a little touch up and clear coating, I finally installed my winter set up.

Yep. A litlle bit early now that we're getting unseasonal tempsLOL. I was hoping to get my 18s powder coated before the real cold hits. I played deer creek this morning with my father in law and it felt like mid June.:D

Thanks Takumi616. I retouched my calipers so I decided to throw them in. If it gets warm again next weekend, i'll probably re-install my all season 18s again LOL

its not all bad, with steelies you dont have to worry about crap getting on to your brakes and ruining the caliper paint. also when snow gets stuck in between alloy spokes it can throw off wheel balance and cause vibrations.

steelies/hubcaps ftw :P

Yeah, thats the price you've got to pay for rolling in style. Steelies have that stupid fold thing along the edge though and stuff can get caught in there too, the only difference is its a bit easier to clean out. Oh wait, u said you had hubcaps, i take that back .... but hubcaps are ugly hehe :P

FYI, the industry-suggested crossover point between winter/summer tires is 7°C. Once the temperature is reliably at or below 7°C, it's better to run winters than summer tires.

So you probably could switch back and easily get another 4~6 weeks out of your 18" setup.

I can understand why you're eager to switch it though - it looks great. :thumbsup

hey what year rb springs are you using? it looks lower than mine (maybe its the 17's).

aslo any pics of rear valence? i have to re do mine...just curious as to how yours turned out. it was a lot trouble with mine since there is no cut out to follow like gs/gt bumper.

I'm using the first gen RB springs that was available at the time. It lowered the car a little bit more than the 0.9F/0.5R specs. Its more like 1 inch all around.
Here's an older pic of the rear valance when I first did it:

Thanks man. Its Plastidip FTW and I did it myself. It took a couple of hours, about 3 coats. Many washes after, its still looks good and is holding up pretty well.

how do you plastidip with masking tape? do you rip off the masking tape as soon as you're done spraying? i'm thinking if I wait or the plastidip to dry it might be harder to get clean lines when removing the masking tape.

winter setup looks good btw :)

Thanks bunchi. I masked off the portions that I did not want to get sprayed on. The critical part if taking it off before the plastidip dries too much and sticks to the tape. I carefully took mine out carefully just a couple of minutes before I sprayed.

Sorry. Correction. I mean I carefully took out the masking take a few minutes after I sprayed the plastidip to avoid it from handening. LOL
