Since going full frame I have the Tamron 28-75 2.8, Canon 50mm 1.8II, and Canon 85mm 1.8.

Now I'm looking to go wide, specifically in prime lenses. After getting the 85mm I just love the sharpness, speed and price of primes.

The widest I can afford now is the Canon 20mm 2.8. opinion and reviews please.

Or are there other better alternatives.

If you really enjoy wide, the 14mm 2.8 is as wide as gets without going fisheye.. Just do what i do and rent one in the meantime until you can buy it. The 20mm 2.8 has noticable vignetting when shot wide open. Stopped down its fine, sharpness is ok but nothing specatcular. Just rent the 14mm you will be happier and its cheaper.

The 20 2.8 has had some pretty poor reviews from many testers (not good bang for buck, not sharp, etc). I myself have not used that lens before, but have stayed away from it based on those reviews. I have the 24 2.8 which has received decent reviews. Based on the results that I see from that lens, I tend to agree with the reviewers. If you want something in the 20's range, go for the 24mm, it's relatively cheap and similarly priced as the 20/2.8.

I'm actually thinking of selling mine and getting the 24-70L instead.
