Hay guys, i just thought i would run something across you guys, i know some ppl like to paint rims.

painting properly is permanent, you need to sand prime sand paint and clear, cost is about $60.

pleasti dip is a better option, however its soft and flakes off easly, its softened by any kund of oils. not very durable and costs about $25.

recently alot of ppl are interested in this. the vinyl is really tough... it can withstand rash really well. not rock rash but trees stumps and shrubs yes!, no problem. this stuff is also verry non-stick. so if you like to go mudding you can easly hose them off with no worries. I like to cote them with a quick detailer speed wax and they come clean in the rain.

here is how my winter rims came out,

here is the same process on a Z06 vette,

and on a amg rim too. this one i gave a gloss black inlay, looked sick once it was done!

both had to be done in three parts, unlike my simple flat faced rims. the sides of the spokes had to be done seperatly, then the lip seperatly and finally the face. the seams are un-noticable, the matte black has that iridescence shine to it that hides the seams and imperfections. trim pieces can also be wrapped too. like this front grill.

on the car!

it stands up pretty well to the elements,
such as salt!

and snow

Painting them would have taken atleast 2-3 houes each, this took 30 min.

when i get tired of black or want to sell them... i just peel it off. simple as that!

just for fun i wrapped them in green! hahaha...

End result looks pretty good. Always nice to have more options. Noticed that the link does not work.

Looks good! thing I like most about this in contrast to plastidip is you can get that gloss look without painting.
