So i just got my car back from the engine being rebuilt and since i was getting new fogs this week I didn't put the splash cover by the wheel on properly. Sure enough it got loose while on the highway, dragged a bit and bye bye to that. Now that its rained hard the last couple of days a lot of water has gotten into my CAI filter and my car is near stalling sometimes especially while idling. I bought new spark plugs and trying to find a new filter but other then that is there anything else i can do to prevent further damage to my motor? I'm hearing i should just run my engine for a while and let the water vaporize. Thoughts/advice? much appreciated.

Water in theory is denser and heavier than oil.. So if you get your oil drained, the more chance that all the water that's already in the engine will be drained as well. Personally, I wouldn't wait and hope that it'll vaporize because if water did enter the combustion chambers, you'd have a bigger problem and expense..

Just my :.02 and good luck!

why don't you just get rid of the CAI and put the splash guard back on?
it's not worth another motor just for maybe 1whp and noise

it's a better peace of mind having a car that can go anywhere in any conditions
