so my HID will ONLY seem to turn on "occasionally" during the day by manually (have relay I believe that keeps them off during day on "auto" setting??) turning them on. Every night or morning when I need them on, I end up doing the "off/on" routine to no avail. Used to work, but rarely does anymore so I have NO lights on at night!
I guess makes sense my question is, anything I can do to fix this?? (igniter or ballasts failing??) or should I just say to myself "it was fun while it lasted" and just get a new set of HID's??
thanks guys, kind of an idiot in the ways of electrical stuff
Is it the OEM or an aftermarket set you put in? Considering the prices of HID's I would just get a new set, I have the same problem with my car. I had a set last me 4 years which is pretty good I think.

well mine was bought from Devin (don't get me started) about 5 years ago, but I think around $200-300 at the time, however I had an idea to replace the 2 fuses (15 & 20) from the kit, sure enough, problem solved!
I was about to say lock this thread or delete it, but this might become helpful for those having similar problem! I must say, not only do they seem to ALWAYS turn on now, but there is almost ZERO lag or misfires from the passenger side now. I think I may have blown the fuse very recently though and it was likely "on it's way out" for possibly a few months, just had enough spark/juice left to occasionally get them to turn on.

I have had the same problem with accessory relay harnesses for the aftermarket HIDs on both my low beams and fog lights - poor quality fuses and/or fuse holders that don't fit well, make a poor connection, overheat and melt or crumble. So far the fuse for the high beam HIDs has been fine but the high beams don't get used nearly as often or for long periods so that may be part of the reason that harness has been trouble free so far.
