Yeah it's going to be around $200+ I think for just a key to be programmed by the dealer. The fobs you can program yourself if you have at least 1.

I just got a quote a couple of days ago for a new remote and a new key for my 2009 Mazda3 sport GT from flipdady and heres the pricing I got.

Remote $101.76
Key $42.37
Labour $100
Total $244.13 plus tax

Labour (installation) is needed if you have only one remote

You mean only 1 key.

To program the keys and remotes yourself you require the following:

2 keys to program another key
1 remote to program other remotes

Thanks for all the help guys i might just call Mazda tomorrow and schedule an appointment. Since I only have one key and it's a key with the remote included on the key I might just have to pay the full amount

Have them cut and program the key. Ask them how much extra it is to do the remote? If it's any more than $5, just do it yourself. It doesn't take any time to do at all. Are you close to Mazda of Toronto? If so, go talk to Joe.

Here are the instructions for programming both.

Yep. I've been to Elite before (just for a BBQ, not a service), but I have heard good things as well. Good luck! :thumbsup

Hi, there, I know this is an older thread but I wanted to know if anyone knows if these instructions work for the 2012 models? Thank you.

Another question about this..

What key do I get for the 1st gen speed? I want the flip key like I have and I have 2 sets of keys but I'd like another one just in case.

I saw this mega thread on another forum of which key to buy but that shit was complicated because there were scenarios, models, etc. where it didn't work. When I finally figured it out I searched for the model number and couldn't find the key anywhere but I found other ones that said they fit the 1st gen speed. Can anyone please link a remote that will work with this method? Seems like the ID is: KPU41788 can anyone confirm before I buy one?

I.E. cut at mazda and do the rest yourself

Also, wtf remote is this:

that remote was from some cx7s, cx9s and rx8s. if you ask me.. stick with the flip key. less issues. the card key is a PITA

Yeah, planning on it. I like the flip. Was just wondering.
