Hey guys!

I dont know if any ones experienced this issue before, but Im really hoping that someoen could help me out. I went to turn on my car today to go to school, and I was noticed my engine light came on. At first I thought it was a glitch, so I turned the car off and back on but the problem was still there :( And thats when I started to panic :$ Ive been maintaining the car and everything looks to be good so Im just really surprised to see the engine. Has any one else experienced the same problem or know what this could be? Any advice would be appreacited :) Thank you!

First thing, check your gas cap. Otherwise, get someone with a code reader to read the code for you.

Get the CEL scanned and then let us know what the mechanic finds.

As long as the check engine light is not flashing means its not a serious engine problem, but as everyone else said go to a mechanic and get the code

most of us have had check engine lights...i get mine on a regular basis so that's why i have a scanner in my car at all times to clear it on the fly.

The first thing I did was actually check the gas cap, but that didnt do anything. Yea I think I need to take it to a shop to get it scanned right away.

I think most people get them at Canadian tire when they go on sale. But a lot of members here have them, and are willing to scan it for you if you find them...

So the engine light went away yesterday, but I still scanned with Phil today and the error it gave us was "Intake Manifold Runner Control Open". Has anyone heard of this issue, or know what it is?

It's basically a throttle plate inside your intake manifold to control airflow. I think it is stuck open.

Ask a different one.

The one on st Clair has a sign that takes up most of the store front that says free.
