View Full Version : Idle jumping issue !!! plz help

Hey i just bought my first car its a 2005 Mazda 3 gt it had 100 000 km when i bought it it has 104 km now um the car had a minor idle issue when i bought it but it started getting worse nd worse every day um it only occurs when i stop at a red light or stop sign um the car idle's normal at about 750 for the first 5 seconds then it drops from 750 to 500 then goes back to 750 nd drops to 500 repeatedly till i start to drive again ?its almost like i'm turning my heat on nd off every 4 seconds ? it doesn't happen when the heat is on or i cant hear it from the loud blower motor but when its off i can always notice the problem? i changed my spark plugs about 1000 km ago it was better for about the first week or less lol. :( And then the shakes nd uneven idle came back ? does anyone know what this could be caused from ? or would it be a warranty issue based on a recall ? i have extended warranty on up to 160 km but it expires in January 25 2012 so i want to figure this out before it gets worse or runs out of warranty :(

Have you tried a fuel injection cleaner?

Also is the throttle body clean?

i can do this with my car but not to that extent, might be 750-850, when its in gear to when i hold the brake down (fully bolted). perfect idle has never been said for a mazda, but it shouldnt be that bad. try the fuel cleaner like aris said.

just clean the throttle body.... it's a known common problem with higher mileage 3s
an ECU update also helps, but that costs money

how do you clean the throttle body? how much would a ecu update cost?

take off the intake and get some throttle body cleaner from canadian tire..

The red motomaster spray can will do just fine.
