Eh everyone,
I am contemplating getting new snows, but for my oem 17" rims. Reason mainly being aesthectics plus I'd like to put them to use. So just wondering has anyone else used 17" snows and if so, any issues? Also I guess it would be prudent to say I'm lowered on Pro-kits, so anyone using this exact combo, it would be great to hear your thoughts...
Thanks,

I thought 17's would be the way to go for esthetics but I run with 16's lowered on teins and they sit perfect with no issues and still look flush.......Id go with a beefy 16 on steelies. Thats hot :)

I'm running 205/50/17 winters with no problems. Also lowered with prokits. Not sure if having a 2010 makes that much of a difference.

Okay thanks everyone for the quick input, now time to shop for the right tire. I'll probably stick to the original 205/50/17 size.
Thanks again,

I run my 2010 GTsedan on 18" wheels in summer and on 17" snows in winter.
My car is lowered on 1.25" 'Eibach springs and 10mm spacers.
Still no problems.
Just wondering why you think their would be a problem? If you searched this fourm you would see that many people run 17" for winter.
Also before you bought your summer rims were you not running your factory 17"s when you were lowered? Their is no difference summer and winter.

I think supposably lower profile tires will have less grip on the snow. but i went 16s to save a couple of bucks

Going with 17" 2010 GT rims this year. Last couple of years I ran 16" steelies.

Well first I hate searching ;-P ...figured it would be interesting to hear people's thoughts and experiences also. Secondly what hgmahaha supposed, was one issue I was concerned about.
Everyone seems happy so what the hell, 17s it is.

It might a little bit, but not a ton. My stocks have gone through 8 winters and are still in very good condition.
If you're concerned you can always paint, plastidip, or vinyl them.

^^^ To attempt to prevent any corrosion happening to my rims, I will definately clean them real good, then put about three 3 coats of hard wax on them....hoping that would be enough lol.
