View Full Version : Mazda "Factory Specifications" for tire pressure

Just what exactly does this mean? The sticker on my 2010 MZ3 Sport shows 35 PSI rating. Is this not 'factory spec'? Reason I ask is that the dealer inspection report from my recent oil change had this written down along with 32 PSI. Sure enough, after pulling out my digital tire gauge, the tires we set at 32, dropped from my 35.
Am I missing something here?
Discuss.

I've noticed this as well. 2010 manual lists 205/55R16 as 35psi, and 205/50R17 as 32psi, yet every time I bring my car in to Carling Mazda (most recently, for a block heater), it's come back with 32psi tires. (?!) This applies to both my 16" winters, as well as my 18" Mazdaspeed rims (which at 225/40R18 are supposed to be 34~35 psi).
I think they just set everything to 32 psi, although I have no idea why.
Perhaps the bay compressors have an auto-shutoff setting, so they simply leave it at 32psi since it's the lowest common denominator.

There are multiple threads about this already. But to sum it up, I think it's just the techs so used to 32 and they just do 32 all around. But really the GX Sport trim (I assume GX Sedan) too all should've been 35. I've brought this up once and they filled it back to 35, when it was indicated on my checklist that they were filled to 32.
