Hey all

I'm not sure if you've heard (I haven't been able to find anything concrete in my search of the forums), but Downtown Mazda on Lakeshore is shutting down.

I know there have been some mixed reviews about the service there, but I've been going for about five years (since I had my '07 M3S), and they have treated me very well. The best part was that the dealership is very close to my office, and had a shuttle that would drop me in front of Union Station (walking distance to my office). I guess if I'm going to stick with a dealership I'll have to go with something closer to home, like Ajax Mazda, on Saturdays.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I know a lot of you see Jimmy, and he's very, very good, but is his work warranty approved (still lots of time left on my manufacturer's warranty)? Is there anyone with approved status who is very close to the downtown core and has experience with the 2.3 DISI turbo?

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers!

As far as Jimmy goes, last time we spoke he did mention that his work is warranty approved as he will get you a receipt. So the total labour cost will be a bit higher because he has to 'visibly' make the transaction.

His work is not [only] very good... he is very detailed, meticulious, and caring about the car. Very accomidating as well.

I think you will not be disappointed. I believe some other M3S go to him as well, so he does have experience with the car :)

GL!

I only go to Jimmy or QEW Mazda. And I make that drive from downtown because they treat me so well.

I've had great service w Jimmy and would send anyone to him, but it isn't always easy to make it to Markham since I live and work downtown. Anyone else have any reco's for shops in the downtown core, just for basic service (oil change, tranny flush, ect..)? It was very nice to drop the car off for service at downtown mazda and walk to work.

EDIT: I should say I don't have a speed 3, but didn't feel like starting a new thread

i bought my car there (i move between ottawa and oshawa, dont ask) theyre just dumb, i had to return my car 3 times to service before they figured out they had to replace a strut. they keep emailing me service reminders so i replied 'im never bringing back my car there, stop emailing me about it' :chuckle

Who's Jimmy and where is his shop? I called DT Mazda this morning to make a service appointment, only to discover that they don't exist any more. :/

Downtown Mazda's former building is being converted into a Honda dealership. Be on the lookout for TM3 members switching over to the Civic.
