So today out of the ordinary I started stalling during stop signs and red lights.
I have an 05 Mazda 3 with roughly 110K, manual trans.
It acts as if it's going to stall sometimes during low rpm and when it does stall the battery, engine lights come on.
The only thing I did recently was add a new head unit to my car.
Any idea what the cause of this could be? Thanks everyone for you help

Get a code reader, and see what the CEL turns up. That would take a lot of guesswork out of this.

Thanks Stevenma188 , is there a place that would do a free diagnostic?

I think Partsource will, not sure. Depending on where you are, I'm sure there are members with scanners that are willing to give you a hand. I have a scanner, but I'm in Guelph.

I see. I'm in Vaughn. Wonder if there's anyone close here to the Vaughan region that can help me out with a code reader?

Phil05gx has one as well, i believe. PM him?
Or just go to partsource, sometimes, they'll tell you what it means as well

Did you unhook your battery when you installed the deck? If so make sure your connections are good. A loose battery cable could cause you problems.

Thanks fayvir I'll sen him a PM.
I got it professionally installed through audio heaven, but I did remove the battery negative cable a few times to modify some stereo and amp wiring. I will re-check the cable for sure.

Thanks! This is a good link. I searched Canadian tire for throttle body cleaner but nothing specific popped up. Anyone know a good TB cleaner?
