View Full Version : CEL ON After Installing SRI
So my friend installed Ractive Shortram intake for my 07 GT yesterday. And after he installed it and I turned on the car, everything seemed normal.. No CEL or anything. But today after I drove the car for about 50 Kms the damn CEL turns on! :bang I'm a noob when it comes to cars so.. What should I do to fix the CEL?
Please help! :(

I would try to reset your ecu (disconnect battery for 5 mins) as it might just need to re-adjust and calibrate air flow accordingly.
Make sure with the Ractive SRI that it is clamped or mounted against something so it does not just hang loose in your engine bay. While it may run okay loose for awhile, my Ractive SRI totally destroyed itself and almost my engine because it was not mounted properly.
Thank you so much for the feedback! :) I will Reset the ECU right away

Search the technical section for SRI and CEL threads. This has been covered a lot, and you will find a ton of information.

what i had to do was use a new sillicone O-Ring for the MAF into the intake, and also lubricate the O-Ring as well....i had CEL problems too at first but finally they went away after doing this

Remember the stock airbox? Yeah, well it seems that if you keep it in it should mount fairly nicely against it. I removed mine and never got the opportunity to try it with the airbox in, but I assume as long as it would've held the intake in a relatively stable spot during hard acceleration and so on it would have lasted a fair bit longer.
Thanks a lot guys. Really appreciate it

i tried that but it didn't fit
might be because i had a AEM filter on the intake
i think the real problem has to do with the maf sensor. cut open the tape or tubing to give it more than enough slack, otherwise it'll rip the wires out of the sensor especially with the intake moving around like that.
