Has anyone put 15 inch snow tires from a 2008 Mazda 3 on a 2012 Mazda Sport? I know that the bolt pattern is the same but I'm not sure if the calipers will rub. Anyone tried this??

2.0L motor you can put 15's
2.3L or 2.5L motor 16's is the lowest you can go

Thanks aris, have you've tried this personally? The guys at TorontoMazda told me that they would fit but that the calipers might rub. Just wanted to check if you've tried this first hand. Thanks again

Skyactiv though. That engine is a lot closer to the 2.5's specs than the original 2.0, if memory serves correctly, so it may have larger calipers (like the 2.5).

-gb- you might want to test fit it just to make sure :)

The Sky's share the exact same brakes as the regular 2.0 models. Fitment shouldn't be an issue.

So gb, did u put ur winter(tires and steelies) on ? Any issues? not only the tire size but the steel rims as well. Are they perfect fit to ur 2012 skyactiv?

Flex, since you are new, Flipdaddy works in parts at the dealer. If Flipdaddy says it's okay, its okay

I have a similar question to the original post. I have a 2008.5 3sport GT. I need to replace my winter tires, but I might give up the car at the end of the lease this spring. If I do, I will replace the car with a sport 3GS-Sky which has the 2.0L. Given the info in this thread, I was going to buy a new set of 205-55-16 winters that I can use on the current 2008.5, and can then use on the 3GS-Sky next season. Does that work? Meaning, the 16's will be fine on the new car as well as the old, right?

Thanks.
