So when I took gf my summer setup last week, I noticed something strange. The right rear tire seemed to be cupping/scalloping along the inside edge. The uneven wear was only happening on maybe 1/4 of the circumference of the tire, while the rest of the tire seems to be wearing normally.
I'm told cupping/scalloping is usually a symptom of suspension problems, but if this were true, shouldn't it be happening around the entire wheel and not just one spot?

Has anyone else noticed this with Falkens? If the suspension is fine, could this be deemed a warrantable failiure?

Also, it should be noted that the valve stem on that wheel has a slow leak and tire pressure (especially lately) may have dropped below what it should be. My shocks feel fine, no bounciness or anything... So it's not that, although I don't know how to check if my bushings are good.

Cupping is usually improper tire pressure. But on a 1/4 of the tire, I'm wondering if the rim was bolted tightly and straight on the hub

Edit: what suspension work have you done?

Lowered on pro-kits, stock everything else.
I'm hoping it was the tire pressure. Midway through the summer I took my wheels of to paint my calipers and didn't retorque when I put them back on, so that might be it too. I didn't notice any excess noise or vibration until pretty recently though.

My 912s wore a little funny one year it was more saw toothing though. I just moved em around and they seem to be fine though one has fairly significant camber wear (well more so than others still usable)

Dave, even though 912's are asymetrical, would you ever mount them inside out?

many members require a camber kit for proper alignment when lowered on pro kits..

Nah I wouldn't mount them inside out.
