Hi there ... anyone know which would be the absolute brightest LED's for a 2008 license plate light? I'm fond of the brightness of the Lexus', but it seems that I can't find a bulb which would provide such brightness for the Mazda. Thanks :)

This picture is a few months old, I have since then removed those decals but I got those lights at the flea market actually for $10.

Hmmmm I have the one's from Corksport, but I don't like the blueish hue. I like these:

That just makes it easier for "others" to read your plates. I mean, if that's what you want...

Seems like there is plenty of room up under the bumper to mount an HID ballast or two. . .

Mine which are SK Performance (http://www.facebook.com/pages/SK-Performance-LED-Lighting/121619144587996) units.
I did a review of all of their LEDS for the 3 here (http://www.stanceiseverything.com/2011/11/product-review-skperformance-lighting/).

If you have a 04-09 sedan and want to throw more light on your plate, you can swap out the single bulb for the dual version used on the hatches. It's an easy swap, as the sedan bumper already has the correct mounting holes. Only issue is that the wiring harness for the hatch is shorter, so you will need extend it. I just lopped the end off and replaced it with the connector and a couple of feet of wire salvaged from the old light. You might even be able to avoid splicing by using a EDM or JDM version of the sedan lights (I am guessing they have the two lamps already due to having wider licence plates).

I was going to do this in the spring. Good to know about the wires. :thumbsup

I like what you did with your lights and would like to duplicate that in my car (inside and outside). Can you list what led (part numbers) I need to buy for each lights to get the same result?
