I was talking to someone tonight about the warranty and she said she has to get her oil changed and all servicing done at the dealership. Otherwise her warranty is void. Is this true? I hope not. She is from BC.

Nope just keep receipts and milage.
Some dealers will make a stink some won't. As long as you keep records it should be fine.

This was actually discussed today.

And tell your friend she is wrong. It's a Mazda CANADA warranty not dealer warranty. So if some will allow service at other places ( even yourself) all have to.

That is definitely not true I've had mine for 4 years and it has never been to the dealer for an oil change simply because i never let anyone work on my car but me unless its warranty. I've never had an issue with warranty on mine.

Your fine. Like others have said, keep all service records when you have a service done/do it yourself, and mark the mileage down.
I used my maintenance manual for the longest time to log everything I did to the car whenever it had a service done.
