I've been reading about the clutches for the 2010 3 GS's with 2.5L I4 and just want to see what ppl's opinions are about the clutch. I've read both horror stories and those who's car seems perfectly fine.

Is there actually an issue with the clutch wearing prematurely?

this is the first ive heard about premature clutch wear for gen 2s. but I assume that excess clutch wear has 90% to do with the driver./ + how hard you drive your car + improper driving.

I agree...I friends and relatives that have taught others how to drive their cars and have had their clutches ruined within hours. It's not unheard of. Make sure you know how to drive your car properly before you make any sorts of decisions

I taught my sig other on my car. The clutch smelled funny for some of it, but I don't think there's any permanent damage, although there was definitely some extra wear on it.

I think it helped killed the engine mount though. Repeated stalling and shocks through the drive train probably helped kill it early, although the engine mounts are known to be a bit crap in our cars. It squeaks now when applying a large amount of torque.

56k on the odo. Will have it brought in to be looked at later this week.

I have the car and it's ok
But I have read , like you , many horror stories of the 2010 Mazda 3 with the clutch prematurely failling
