Currently have a 2006 Mazda 3 GT hatchback with an auto. Roughly 118000km.
Notice this vibration now when I stopped at a stop light. The vibration stops when I switch into neutral. Then starts again, when I shift back into drive.
Check the infamous passenger mount and still good. No oil leaking or rubber damage.
Might be rear motor mount or trans. mount? Or there something more devious. :flaming
Thanks!
Dave

it's not a breathing type of vibration is it?
My car has a breathing vibration sometimes when at stop. Went for a throtle body clean at the dealer and it was gone.

This is common problem on Mazda3s, dirty throttle body that can lead to the symptoms you are experiencing. If it's not TB, then there's the EGR valve, MAF sensors, or purge solenoid valves. All of these are well documented issue on Mazda3Forums.
I had the same issue and cleaned my own throttle body and the problem is gone for now. So I would recommend cleaning the throttle body too.

I'm not sure if this is directly related to the problem, but I heard that shifting into neutral at stops in automatic cars on a frequent basis isn't very good for the transmission. Correct me if I'm wrong - just something I heard and thought I'd throw out there.

What do you guys mean by breathing vibration??
I have a manual and when idling it feels like the car is stalling almost.. but the throttle stays steady? Would that be a mount?
