I tried searching but couldn't find anything on this topic.

Is it possible to put some sort of timer on the fog lights so that when i lock the car, they stay on for 30 seconds? Also I would want the same thing for when I unlock it.

I would probably need an indie fog mod prior to doing this mod perhaps?

Thanks in advance. :D

This would require taping into the computer and creating some sort of device that detects when the (un)lock buttons are pressed and then incorporating a timer that's hooked into your fog lights to turn them on and off.
Unless there is an easier way of knowing when the (un)lock buttons are pressed. But either way, you still have to build a timer that gets triggered by the (un)locking of the car, which then triggers the fog lights.

IMO, not really worth the time, hassle, and probably cost. Unless you can build circuits yourself or have a friend who can.

Of course, if there's already an aftermarket unit that does this, then it's all a moot point lol

I just saw it on an Escalade today and thought it was pretty sweet. I was hoping it was a bit easier than that, guess I'll have to forget about it unless anyone else has heard of something similar.

there is a way to make your fogs stay on for 10-20 seconds after youve turned off the key. but you need an indy fog mod first. but im not sure how to make them come on with your keyless entry.

That's still pretty awesome. How would I go about doing that once I do the indy fog mod ?

You don't. It's just how the indy fog mod works.
Your fog lights turn off with the throttle body

i have the indy fog mod and it works with my ebrake so once i drop the break the fogs come on unless if have the fog switch to off. they don't stay on when i turn off the car.

Your fog lights turn off with the throttle bodyShould be noted that this only works if you do the indy fog mod in the relay box in the engine bay, if you do the splice at the pjb under the glovebox you will not have this side effect.

again mine is in the relay box in the engine bay and it doesn't stay on after the car is on, its wired to the E brake. it depends on how you wire it.

Right, but I was really just talking about the two main (well documented) ways of doing it. I suppose i should have been more specific.

If you tapped the dome light for a signal that might work; it comes on when you unlock the doors with the remote. I've heard of people using this to power puddle lights on the under side of side mirrors as well.

Of course doing it that way would make the fog lights come on every time you open the door. Maybe not exactly what you want?

well the job was done by dan (mcguyver_3) and personally ive only ever seen one person with it wired so the fogs stay on. everyone else ive seen has it wired same as mine.

Its easy to do if you're fogs are wired with a harness direct from the battery. Use a time delay relay. They are available from several aftermarket company. There is a write up at http://www.torontomazda3.ca/forum/showthread.php?56825-How-To-(07-)-Aftermarket-HID-Time-Delay-On-and-Off of something similar. I would email wolstentech and ask them some questions and ask them if they have a single solution for what you want or if you need 2 or more products.
