Has anyone had this issue, after driving for a while, when I sit at a set of lights idling for more than about twenty seconds, the car stalls. It will start again, but two dealers can find nothing wrong. Had battery replaced a few days ago with a re-learn for the TPS, throttle body cleaned as well. Both dealers refused to replace purge solenoid control valve saying it would set off a check engine light if that was the problem. Car runs perfectly otherwise. This is driving me nuts, and to boot, I'm moving to Winnipeg on Friday with my family in the car, and have 2000kms of NO cell service on remote roads. Worried we'll be stranded in the middle of no where on dangerous roads. Please share your thoughts. Thanks

P.S. I only replaced the battery as preventative maintenance as where we are going can reach as cold as -50 celcius and we need to be able to start. We also replaced
-synthetic oil
-coolant
-gear box oil
-put factory airbox back in ,
CAI out
-$120 for diagnostic to make sure car was running properly for journey
Thoughts please

Happened to me but my car had a CEL for the PVS and was running waay lean at idle but if you have no CEL then it's likely not that.

If you want to be uber safe and uber sure, replace the purge solenoid anyways.

But also check your vacuum lines like DU said.

Dont worry Bill, when you drop it off tomorrow we will do everything we can to try and have this fixed for you before you leave. i will put my best guys on it. if at the end of the day there is nothing 100 % found failing and you want to put a purge valve into it as well we could always do that. but lets do the diag we need to do and hopefully it will yeild positive results vs the prior diagnostic.

This was the problem on my friends audi A4 as well which had these symptoms as well. The vaccuum leak was also leading to braking problems too (i.e. not a whole lot of braking power at lower speeds)

The first thing I'd check is the MAF wiring. Lots of reports of the MAF harness getting damaged with CAIs on these cars.

+1. I was having a similar issue while my SRI was in except my car was jerking heavily as well. Most likely some stretched wiring somewhere (lucky for me going back to the stock intake solved my issues)

so far we had updated the pcm and performed the throttle body reset and relearn procedure. i have talked to bill and he was in yesterday and the vehicle is running as it should be to date.
