I am having issues getting my manual 2011 Mazda 3, into 5th gear.
When I'm coming from 4th and pushing up into 5th, It sticks and i got to wiggle it from neutral back into 5th sometimes 2-3 times to get it to slide in.
Anything I should know?
Thanks

i was being a smart ass haha that would just totally molest your transmission. Sounds like you got a syncro problem... its a 2011 take it to the dealer asap

I had a very similar issue a while back. There is a thread on it. For me, it was technique. Tech pointed out to me that there is very little forward movement required - almost completely lateral to a point. He was right. I changed the way I shifted to be more lateral than forward and have not had an issue since.
These cars are a little funny about certain things, but the fun factors outweighs it by far.

Thanks for the pointer.. I'll try shifting to 5th a few times see if I can have it not 'stick' while I slide it in.

5th and 6th seem farther away in terms of absolute movement than the rest of the gears. It's weird but you just need to get used to it. When you shift into 5th it's alot harder to just shift in the H pattern from 4th to 5th like you would lets say 3rd from 2nd. You gotta go all the way right and then up, rather than diagonally from 4th.

yeah i find if i push all the way over then up into 5th from 4th it gets 'stuck'. but if i go over all the way then let off a slight bit before pushing it up into 5th.. it goes in easier. make sense?
