Wife has the car right now so I cant check the manual for this. Just got an 09 GT hatch with HID's which light up the road just in front of the car really well but on unlit roads its basically dark more than a few car lengths ahead. Wondering if they are aimed a little too low or if this is just how HID's need to be set to prevent annoying other drivers?

I know I can use hi-beams on unlit roads but of course if there is an oncoming car (and there usually is) that is not really an option.

btw, the hi-beams on the 3 are awsome! Really light up the road ahead well compared to my Civic and Altima.

Have you tried adjusting the headlight leveling for the darker roads only?

Pages straight from the manual.

^^^ That's the first thing that crossed my mind. The "Headlight Leveling" may need adjusting

So THATS what that switch is for!!
Soon as the wife gets home, I'm flipping through the manual.

Thanks for posting the pics!

MUCH better now! It was set at the lowest setting, giving me a great view of the road 5 feet in front of me. :bang

When all else fails, read the manual (or ask on TM3)...............
