OK ive narrowed down 2 different rims.
The GP-racing Gr-4 flat copper or the Cr-Kai flat metal.
I drive a black Mazda 3 2010 sedan
CR-Kai: http://www.google.ca/imgres?q=cr-kai+flat+metal&um=1&hl=en&sa=N&biw=1280&bih=920&tbm=isch&tbnid=JUGJVVnKqpJeTM:&imgrefurl=http://www.nsxprime.com/forums/showthread.php%3Fp%3D1407229&docid=fz6iJ7TDm8bzHM&itg=1&imgurl=http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5251/5513060204_fe6c3d43ff.jpg&w=500&h=467&ei=0-4vT4KuFon40gGD6JD2Cg&zoom=1&iact=rc&dur=495&sig=107600928441202278220&page=2&tbnh=173&tbnw=182&start=28&ndsp=25&ved=1t:429,r:7,s:28&tx=19&ty=88

CR-Kai with matching blue lugs :D

I hope I meet you at one of the meets this summer.
we'd either get along great or kill each other :chuckle
what I was getting at is, you're going strictly based on looks then, since as far as I know the work wheels are pretty good quality. Don't know much about the GP wheels
also I was asking because -cj- I believe had the work wheels on his speed and they were around $2000-2500 for the set
they're also for sale btw

My vote would be the CR-Kai.

Well on eBay there priced at 1555. He probably bought them with tires

with tires it was closer to 3 grand.
does the $1555 include shipping? is it within Canada or do you have to import it from the US and pay duties?
More importantly, what made you narrow down your search to these 2 wheels in particular and what are you looking for in a wheel. that will help people better understand what you're looking for and give you better opinions instead of just saying which one they like better.

Na shipping is free. and about what i am looking for. well its hard too say. this is the first car that i am building up. these 2 wheels were the ones that caught my eye

fair enough, just don't get fooled by the ebay price, because when they do show up you might have a nice hefty bill to pay for duties.
example, my brother bought a guitar for 99 cents off ebay, and there was $74 in charges when it arrived. it couldn't even hold the tune, so we burnt it in the backyard....
unless they're coming from within Canada, and you live in Canada, then there shouldn't be any problems

LOL - we'll probably get jumped from all the people we trolled
GP-racing Gr-4 are the knock off reps of the Work Emo CR Kai's
IIRC - the GP's are about $1300 w/ tires for the set (retail price from Simply Tire), whereas the Works are about $1500-2000 PLUS Tire

loki brings up an excellent point. If it is coming from the states and sender fills out custom papers properly you will get hit with import charges, and that does not include brokerage fees, which is usually the bulk of the COD charge when they drop this package off at your door. Something to consider.

if they dont advise you is that legal ? adding charges that you are not aware of
has nothing to do with ebay
its to do with Canadian customs etc
boyracer

Canada customs takes a look at what is coming into the country, they look at the value of the product hit you with the dreaded HST/ GST, the courier company pays those import charges on your behalf, pass the charges onto you + a brokerage fee for using said service & to add insult to injury a HST/ GST fee on the brokerage fee.

I had priced out my rims from 2 difference sources.
1 was ebay, 1 was a sponsor here.
Sponsor said $1300, Ebay said $1040 inc shipping.
I then asked the ebay selling how much border fees usually cost and they said about 25% of the cost.
So $1300 from sponsor. Or $1290 ish from ebay.
Also, UPS likes to charge you for their time at the border.

I'm assuming those are for the GP racing rims
Are tires included? If so - which tires?

- Work CR-kai if you plan on keeping them for more than 1 season
- GP racing if you plan on selling them after 1 season
That said, it's easier to sell cheaper rims and tires than authentic ones.

that's pretty solid advice right there

CR-Kai in flat metal. Given that you have Black Mica, maybe stay with something lighter in colour otherwise it's just all lost in blackness.
What rubber would you be thinking of running?

not the work style/colour you are looking for (this is white xt), but still a good deal on a great size and offset. you could always powdercoat them gunmetal. it even comes with lugs and brand new tires which you could sell or keep...

you're welcome :)
EDIT: not same but similar, gp racing gr-7 (volk reps) in hyper silver, needs to be powder coated for sure though:

Since the GP Racing is a replica of the CR KAI's, you'll have an easier time reselling them should you choose to. As well, you won't be as upset if one of them gets curbed.
The other thing it boils down to is cost, can you afford $1500 + say another $800-$1000 for a decent/good set of summer tires? If so, do you really want to pay that?
Which would you rather pay: $1500 + $1000 or $800 + $1000 ?
Either way, they're both going to look great.

Man, how is this a comparison. It's similar to asking, what's better, Genesis Coupe or BMW M3.

those 2 cars were my exact thought of what kind of comparison this guy was making, when I first posted this morning, but I didn't want to say anything....

If you have the money or willing to spend approximately double go for the CR Kai. But I have 18" GP Racing GR 4s and I am happy with them.

I would not pay 1000$ or any were near that for replica wheels, maybe 500 is what they actually worth not sure why people spend 1000 on cheaply made cast wheels. GP = Rota/Drag/(enter all other replica companies). Even if you intend to sell them in a season or 2 I would still go authentic as they hold their value better.
