okayyyyy..so i just picked up my cobb short shifter...i must say it does look pretty nifty..just wondering if anybody has this mod on thier speed and if the can pose any feedback on the item, all i know right now is that you can decrase the throw of your shift by up to 30% or lengthen it an extra 10% also that the hieght is adjustable, anyways i like it! just wondering what other people think lol let me know?

Can suffer from the 'Cobb' click
Make sure to use Loctite!!!! otherwise you end up with no gears at a bad time
There is some play due to the height adjust
That's about it.

what do you mean by the cobb click?
what do you mean by the cobb click?
it means when you're moving the shifter around, it makes a clicking noise

When I drove Mr.Wilsons speed with the COBB Short shifter I loved it, my only concern was that one of my friends said that...I know im going to use the wrong terminology here so please correct it...he said that the gears just dont sit properly with a short shifter and it sooner or later causes issues...he knows his stuff, just wondering if you guys know anything about that as it seems a little off considering that almost everyone has a short shifter lol
abstrakt: whens the next meet??? want to see how your and mikes cars are running since the AP etc.

Well, I'm going to say your friend doesn't know his stuff.
Adjusting the fulcrum of the shift cables does absolutely nothing to gear placement inside the transmission.
I would expect nothing but years of trouble free operation with a quality short shifter.

fair enough...well I made him look really bad, he really is knowledgeable, he explained it to me through an email so maybe the way I asked the question was the problem.
AHA!! I always look forward to fast_dude's posts!! never a dull moment. But since his cousin lives down the street and he's here all the time anyway, its no inconvenience to check them out, and as long as my car is the way it is everyone's car is waaaaay faster than mine.

It doesn't matter who's car is faster then who's. So long as you enjoy your car thats all that matters.

LMAO!! I know, and I'm happy. I just like moar fast!!

Moar fastz comes with 2 penalities, cost and driveablity.
Fast cars are absolutely terrible to drive slow, the rattle, shake, poor low end respsonse. With a decent tune and some minor bolt ons the Speed3 is a decent performer.

i think im going to cry
keeping with the topic, I do believe Mr Wilson likes his cobb short shifter. It does click, and it does drive him nuts but thats a personal preference thing.
I think fast_dude and Boostin should just have sex (with each other...) and get it out of their system. It's a suggestion...do as you wish...
If you like the way it feels, that's all that matters. As Mr Wilson mentioned, just make sure you used some loctite because you don't want to be that guy on the side of the road who can't get his car in gear.

What Harley do you have? Harley of Toronto had a 50% sale of EVERYTHING including bikes...but theres nothing left, my dad wanted an Ultra Classic but they're all gone friends of our bought 13 bikes (8 for on brother 5 for the other) and now they're going to sell them. Its ridiculous!!

If that dealership was honest, they would have only sold 1 bike per person. Buying 15 bikes, thats scum bag material

Theyre going out of business...they needed shit gone...they have the money...a customer is a customer, you snooze you lose. For 8 bikes at 50% off...thats still MINIMUM $50,000 (but considering average price of an HD is 20,000...and I dont know what models they bought, its likely to be more than that) to be willing to drop that in one shot...bawwwwller.
