I got msyelf a 55w DDM kit back about 4 months ago. Ive been having fluttering issues one one bulb now for a while, and now the bulb has about half the output as the other one. I purchased a set of LUMEN's from a local supplier. I read these are very good replacement blbs, however... There is NO 6k Tint on them at all! There should be a very light blue looking tint. I realize that no 2 bulbs are the same between manufactures, but there should be a similar output in color for them.

What with this? Am i going to have to order another set of bulbs from DDM?

Are you talking about HIDs or just regular halogen? I assume HIDs.

HIDs will be clear where as halogens require the tint to look blue.

As for new bulbs, you can pretty much use bulbs from any manufacture. If you got them from a local shop don't they offer a warranty? If not all of our lighting sponsors offer at least a 1 year warranty.

Make sure the bulb is the problem and not the ballast, ignitor, etc.

Yeah, its an HID setup(55W) with 6K bulbs. There was supposed to be a bluish tint in the light, but on these new bulbs there is no such "tint" I'll review the light pattern when i get off work and its dark enough, but i dont see any kind of blueish look. They look like brighter 4300 lights.

My 6000k don't have any blue tint to the bulb, nor do some of the 8000k I have seen. I'm not sure where you heard there is supposed to be a tint to the bulb, but maybe you are getting it confused with the colour of the output?

6000k is a crystal white color. The only bulb I've scene with a blue tint on the bulb are eurolite xenon crystal white.

Lol, Thats the words i was looking for. Sorry, its been a hectic day @ work. Yes, the output should have a very light blue tint according to spec charts ive seen from Sylvania, as well as the Lumens chart. Any ideas?

6000k should have a hint of blue to the output. Not much but it's noticeable.

Each manufacturer "could" have a slightly different output. I used to have 6000k Prolumens and they had a slight tint of purple which I really liked. My 6000k are more white but I still like them and have a pretty good output for visibility.

Well, i just started the car, and the bulbs are white white. No blue whatsoever. Ive contacted DDM, and im going to call them on monday when i can find my paperwork. I have to get them shipped out which i think is crap in the first place. (why should i send out my defective bulbs on MY coin, for a defective product? Just replace them and get it over with!)

See, what i dont understand is why my kit, (is a 6K which looks right according to the picture) makes the old bulbs look liike a 10-12K but has the same output of a 6K, if not better.

Different bulbs by different companies. That's pretty much it.

The kit I got from Noob looked 8000K from far away but its actually 6000K after lighting up for awhile. Are you using a wiring harness kit? I commend you for running a 55W kit.
