Hey all...
Ok here's the deal I bought some wheels off eBay....Menzari Hydro 18 x7.5 with a 45 offset and they are 5x114.3. All sounds good but they sent me the incorrect wheels. I got 35 offset and the bolt pattern is 5x115. The shipping company is telling me the wheels will still fit. Can someone here confirm this for me please.
Thanks

Edit: googled and realized 5x115 is a real bolt pattern

If they are indeed 5x115, then they won't fit. That is a much rarer bolt pattern but it is a bit off and I would refuse delivery if that is the case.
Edit: Thinking about it, they may fit but I would personally rather not have the bolt pattern that is a bit off.

115 and 114.3 is measured in millimeters right?
0.7mm doesn't seem like a lot. So maybe a conical (or is it tapered?) lug will make it work provided the bolt openings on the rim are wide enough (which aftermarket rims usually are)
This is one of those "gotta test fit to make sure it works" scenarios

But then the lug won't sit in the middle of the taper, which is still not good.

Don't you have buyer protection?

Get the proper bolt pattern. Seems like a lot of risk for something that's so critical to your safety.

Hey..
Yes there's no issue with buyer protection, cause I'll just file a claim with paypal. The issue is the wheels I bought are now on backorder for 2-3 months. So in an effort to save money I guess there trying to get me to keep this wheels. I told them the car is still under warranty and I don't really want to force wheels on that are not made for the car. But there saying there's no issue cause they will still fit. He replied ....
Yes they will bolt up and fit great. It is very common to swap either one for the other.
DOT allows the holes to be out. If you have a measuring tool that can measure in thousands of a inch you can measure your 5x4.5 (stock rims). Your see some will measure 5x114.0 to 5x115
It is safe and you can look it up if you want. A ton of BMW and GMC people do it all the time because bmw wheels are 5x120 and GMC is 5x120.7
So just trying to make sure.

True
Just remember - this was not your fault. And in no way should the onus be on you to return them. Make sure the shippers send out the right rims and they arrange for a pick-up of the wrong ones.

I would return the order. Better to get the right wheels. If the seller can not supply the wheels you want, take your business elsewhere.

+1. There are things I'd definitely turn to ebay for, including some things for my car, but rims definitely are not one of those things.

Thanks, but honestly I can make my own decision as to where I buy parts from. Plus at $505 shipped no one else even comes close to that price. I have been on eBay since 2000 and have never had a major issue. I buy stuff from The Nerthlands to Australia but I always pay with paypal so I'm not worried.

u bought 18x7.5 for 505$ shipped.... no offense but those wheels will be garbage in like 2 yrs...
what i meant earlier is that u get what u paid for. if u spent around 1000$ for decent rims from our sponsors, you wouldnt have run into this trouble at all and you wont run into troubles down the road. wheels like that are bound to break or warp.

I would have to agree with MZ-Kiyomi_17. $500 for a set of new rims does not sound right. I believe in spending the money for quality the first time around... in the long run you save money and time from fixing or replacing said wheels. Also consider resale value if you ever get tired of your wheels and want to sell them. just my :.02

Sorry i'm not trying to be a dick or anything. do you mind posting a picture here of the rims you bought? I 'm just curious to see what style they are. As for $505 USD i'm sure many sponsors can get something around $550-$600 cdn. Since $505 usd will yield to approx $520-525 after paypal/visa rate.
But anyways, as many members have said, its best you send it back and get the proper set that fits your car to reduce any serious problems.

Since it's bigger than 67.1 it should still fit. Better if he purchases hub rings to avoid vibration.
To the OP I wouldn't risk getting inaccurate bolt patterns especially if there's a correct one available and it's not your fault. It's a great safety concern with the lugnuts not sitting properly to yourself and others around you. It's ok to be frugal but always be on the safe side.

the lugnuts WILL vibrate loose and you could loose a wheel.
A friend hit a curb and destroyed 2 wheels on her car. 5x114 hyundai. I temporarily put on 5x112, which is only a 2mm difference, and after torquing them on the side of the road, they were already loose by the time she got her car home. It was then towed to dealer to get new wheels. she drove maybe 5 kms
