Hey guys,

I'm a noob when it comes to car mods so any help would be appreciated.

I bought a led 3rd brake light, install looked about as easy as it could be but some reason there is something wrong with the fit. Not sure if its something i'm doing wrong or if its the light its self. It comes with its own gasket and on the stock light there is a second smaller gasket that goes into the inner groove that should seal right up against the trunk lid.

I took the second gasket out of the stock light and put it in the led light and for some reason on the led light there is a bit of a gap between the second gasket and the trunk lid.

the gap is even all the way around, the larger gasket that came with the led light is slightly thicker than the stock light.

Is it supposed to be like this or am I just missing something here?

Thanks in advance

either im missing something, but did you take the gasket off the led and install the gasket from the oem light? as thats how im reading it. as i could only assume the gasket on the led is larger so it fills that gap and you dont switch over the gasket from the oem light. dont forget to switch your trunk button into the led to avoid any water getting behind and into the led

The two lights are the exact same, the oem light has two gaskets, the led one only comes with one but has the space for the second. the second goes where the edges of the trunk lid would push into the light when it sits flush, so i assumed to take the second gasket out of the oem light since it just pops right out and put it in the same groove in the led light. but for some reason the led light isn't sitting as flush as the oem leaving the second gasket exposed. there's nothing i can see blocking it from being flush. the gasket that comes with the led is the same size as the oem one but slightly thicker probably because it hasn't been compressed.
