About 6 months ago I bought a 2007 Mazda 3 GT Sedan, the previous owner had an after market engine, starter or ignition immoblizer installed, I don't know which of these it is. However, when I want to start the car, key is inserted and turned on, when the the little car with the key goes off [on the dash display] I have to press the button in the center of the fob and start the engine. Now, for some reason it is not allowing my car to start. [no clicking or engine rollover, just nothing] This is the second time this problem has surfaced. The fob has no brand name on the exterior or on the interior. The fob is about an inch and a quarter in dia. [black] with a round button in the center with an open paddlelock symbol imprinted on it, it also has a small red LED on the outer rim that lights when you press the button [which is working, have also replaced the batteries] I have spent several hours online looking at products in the hope I might see an item that looks familar, but that didn't happen. If I was more of a car guy I may know where or what to to look for, but I'm not. So I'm hopping that someone reading this may be able to steer me in a direction that could prove helpfull or maybe recognize the fob by the discription and direct to a product line. Other then help from this forum, my other option is a Mazda dealership service dept. which could be quite expensive. One final thought, the first time this problem surfaced I just got pissed off and left it and tried to start it the next day and it started okay, but not this time.
Too all, thankyou for taking the time to read this thread. Any help and or advice will be gratefully appreciated.

Would you mind posting a picture of the fob? That might help.

you need to host your pictures on a third party site, photobucket, drop box, etc.
