Hello everyone, I'm wondering if anyone has had to deal with this before on their 3? My car was making a very loud noise only when I would do speeds over 100km/h or more. At first I thought it was one of the Wheel Bearings...

But after I took it to my mechanic to check out... it turns out that it's the Center Bearing that needs to be fixed and is causing the noise.

He is quoting me a price of $400 for the Center Bearing replacement and $800 for the Center Bearing and Shaft replacement.... He also let me know that is is a common problem among Mazda 3's and Ford Focuses...

Has anyone had to fix this part before? Do the prices sound resonable? My car currently has 125000km and it is a 2009 Mazda 3 GT 2.3L.

Thank You for all your help.

Well I had that issue also but it was because somehow the boot got ripped open, all the grease spilled out and I guess the bearing got contaminated also. Anyways, luckily I was still under warranty. They replaced the complete shaft and told me it would have cost me $900 if I had to pay it myself.
