Hi Guys,

I'm shopping for a nav system for my mazda3 2008. I'm looking for one of those systems that replace the entire OEM radio and look like it belong on the car. After looking at so many of them all over the net I'm going crazy and still don't know what to buy.

My budget is around 500 bucks, and these are my requirements.

1. Nav system with loaded North American's maps.

2. Bluetooh features for making and receiving calls.

3. Bluetooh compatibility that let me stream music from my android phone as well as the ability to control it via the system and the wheel audio controls. (Being able to load and display the album's covers and playlists from the android will be just icing on the cake :) )

5. outputs for my 4 channel amp.

6. Backing up camera capabilities

Thanks in advance

Alex

500 bucks for a double din system with navi and more won't happen or if you find one for that low it will be a POS, for 500 you could get a nice stereo system with out navi. your budget is going to need to increase to 800-1000 for all that stuff

Thanks for the reply 07carbon3,

I was basing the price on prices I found on ebay and on this forum, take a look at this link:

Not necessarily, but OP, I'd look for used headunits given your budget, or I'd check out one of the local sponsors as maybe they'll be able to hook you up :)

thanks for the reply Impressive,

I don't want to buy a used one so I guess I'll have to increase my budget. So those units on the link for under 500 bucks don't have any of those features?

For sure I'll go with the sponsor, to buy or for the installation :) Any idea what brand name or model number I need for the unit to do all that I want?

I'm looking into a headunit myself but I haven't actually checked any out personally. If you don't go for an OEM-looking one, I'd recommend Pioneer, Kenwood or Clarion. I can't give you any suggestions on specific units at the moment, but like I said, depending on where you live, going to either Audio Heaven, Selective Sound or any car audio shop & talking to someone personally will probably yield you the best results.

also, try searching http://www.sonicelectronix.com/ or http://www.crutchfield.com for models you'd consider. Both sites do an excellent job of outlining the features each product provides...you really can't go wrong :thumbsup

Thanks Impressive,

Maybe as you mentioned I should consider an not OEM looking one, because my options are limited with those. My fear is that I have seem cars with none OEM headunits and the kit usually has like cheap looking plastic that sometime doesn't even match the colors.

By the way I like Alpine products, Do you have an idea if they have good nav systems as well?

I'd look that up on the Alpine website, but from what I've seen personally, most of their decks seem to be a bit outdated.
They do make good products - I have a set of Type-S speakers in my car and they sound great.
