CUP HOLDERS GAPS

Hey guys,
I dont know if you had this happen to you before regarding the gaps in the 2010 and above Mazda 3's.
I had change on top of the lid prior to opening it and when I did all the change went through the back gap in the cup holder compartment. To boot I lost my wedding ring on the side gaps where the lid opens up. I thought i would be a safe place to put while i played sports. (wife not happy about that one)
Is there any feedback regarding that issue and any suggestions about trying to recover some coin and the ring aside from taking it back to the dealership?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The cupholder should come out... not sure about the 2010 but I know with the previous generation you lift up the centre console and the whole cupholder and section around the ebrake comes out. I take mine to wash it fairly frequently and you can get right down into where the shifter is... but the ring might have fallen wayyyyy down there, dont know if you could get it out with man fingers. lol
