Hi, just got a 08 HU 6CD Changer with MP3.
I'm unable to reset the clock.....been trying every method I could and no luck.
Doing a search and it seems that someone else has the same problem too?

Have you tried following the owner's manual? Sometimes programming these things are not as intuitive as they should be.

You could always cheat and pull the battery for a few minutes and put it back right at 12:00.:chuckle
Perhaps you really do have something wrong with your head unit.

What happens when you hold the clock button?
The number flash and it will display 12hr:24: adj
If I press clock again, it will pass the the hour, then it flash........press clock again, it goes to minutes flash
Any of the process above I press 0:0 (aka info), it will cancel the whole thing and goes to fuel consum, etc....
Not sure if thats related's but it is a 07 MS3 with a 08 HU with mp3

IIRC, the H and M use the first two station buttons once clock is in set mode

You mean the 1 an 2 button?

You use the CLOCK button to enter the clock mode, and to cycle through the settings on the clock. you use the SET button to change the hours and minutes and change between 12hr and 24hr.
Hrm, just realize the 07+ doesn't have the SET button. Maybe try the INFO button if yours has it. If not try one of the dials? (My pontiacs use the radio tuning dial to change the time, iirc).

reference pic.
After I press and hold clock, it flashes but none of the button would do anything.
Neither the audio, tune, 1 2 3 4 5 , Program, RDM, Scan nor the up or down arrow.'
Press Set/info, it will cancel the whole thing....
Press clock, it just jump on to the next thing, but cant change the numbers.
this is getting seriously interesting.

I think what he meant was the ^ and v buttons. The one with the "Tuner" is for hour and the "v" symbol is for minutes. :)
It's suppose to be just holding the clock button until it flashes, then changing the hours with "^" and the minutes with "v."

It should work like this, unfortunately I can't hook up my 07 deck because I don't have an LCD screen to go with it.

If it doesn't work like that, maybe your deck is broken?

The setup is slightly different than my '07 and I'm not sure why they would have done that.
From the 08 manual. It's basically what people have suggested though. Maybe you bust aren't doing it right? No offence of course.

What would that do other than reset the clock? Maybe wait until midnight or noon to do it? :chuckle

I'm quite sure I tried the H and M button which is the ^ and down arrow button, I basically tried all the buttons on the dash....
Do not want to reset the battery to "fix" that neither.

Sounds like it's either a busted head unit, or the wiring/electronics from the 07 to 08.5 (since the head unit has MP3) is causing some issues. Odd though how you can't even change the time which should be similar between years.
I would like to see it thought. Interesting how it's being so difficult.

It is very frustrated........
I did set the clock on my original 07 deck 6 CD. It was easy.

This is a complete workaround but it will get you the time.
What I would do it disconnect your deck and LCD. Hook up your old deck and set the time. Remove the harness from the cd player but NOT the LCD while the accessory is still turned to ON. Plug in the new deck and install.
This should keep your time unless you have a battery problem, etc.
I think it's an issue between the 07 and 08 decks but who really knows. The only way to test it would be to try out someone else's 2008 deck that you know that works.

Hmmm ... this is quite interesting. I sold Phil this unit, which I originally acquired on here from Rags (http://www.torontomazda3.ca/forum/member.php?13758-Rags). The unit is a Bose unit from a 2008 Mazda 3 (could even be 2008.5, he wasn't evidently clear about it). Model number on the unit is BAS466ARX.
I had used the unit for approximately two weeks in my own 2008, but since I didn't originally have a Bose unit, the volume output wasn't sufficient due to lack of an amp. However, I attest that the unit was fully working when I pulled it from car. The only thing I might even be able to remotely suggest is to try the faceplate that came with the Bose unit (though it should be 100% the same notwithstanding the button labels and button function may be determinative by the HU itself). I can pop the unit back into my car and see if I can set the time and things like that, at least we can eliminate that the unit is / is not working properly or whether it is a 07 - 08 transition issue.

Thanks Alvin for your post-sale follow up.
I will play around with it to see if I miss anything or do what cwp_sedan said. I know you will be busy for the up coming month, we will talk again on this matter once your are done with your exams.
