View Full Version : Would you buy winter tires in March, if they are below cost?
Would you buy winter tires now, if they are offered at a substantial discount?
What is the best place to store tire - Garage or basement?

If they are new then why not. Best place not sure..But I prefer to store mine in the basement.

Absolutely..... in fact that is what I am planning to do.
As for storage... wherever it is cool and dry. Cool=less plasticizer loss, Dry=less corrosion on the rims (assuming they are mounted).

Good year to do that, as there is going to be a lot of left over stock in the GTA

if they are new and below cost then buy for sure, and as for storage, I usually store it where ever I have room, normally in the basement locker of my building.

Just be weary of old tires. In your other thread you mention Conti TS810 tires, and they have been discontinued years ago, so odds are they are very old.

great point, check the production date on the sidewall of the tire. it will be 4 digits such as 5210 which would mean they were manufactured on the 52nd week of 2010. Tires over 5 years old even if brand new are not good.

Thank you for the warning. Another dealer also told me that Conti TS810 were discontinued while ago. I bought four Conti TS810 for $321 including taxes. They were manufactured in the week ending July 10th, 2011(the production date on the sidewall is 2811). I guess TS810 may have been discontinued in the latter part of 2011.
There were two types: TS810 and TS810S (S for Sport).
May be that is the source for confusion regarding when they were discontinued.

If the date is 2811, thats a good deal, and a good tire! :)

I'll be buying them in april/may. Always the best for the price at this time of the year.
