Guys,
excuse me if I'm an idiot but I have the OEM Rims and I need new tires. I am aware the tires are 215/45/18 but I was wondering if I could use another configuration for the OEM Rims?
I think thinking 225/45/18? Also do our tires have tire pressure monitoring devices in them?
Thanks

225/40/18 is the recommended size for our car if you choose to run 225 wide tires.
Canadian cars do not have TPMS, US cars all have them.

What about the Stock Mazdaspeed 3 rims? Will they fit the 225/40/18 tires if I get them?

OK Confused! So what does everyone suggest?
I will most likely get the 215/45/18 if I can find them for a good deal. BUT if i need to go to another configuration which size should I get? Driving proper and looking proper would be GOOD! :)

That's thick IMO. Go with 225/40/18.

Gen 1 rim: 18x7 (225/40/18)
Gen 2 rim: 18x7.5 (235/40/18)
Well, I'm sure you probably can go +-10mm and it would still fit.

Ok cool, I have the 1st Gen speed3. Got it at a low mileage of 49,000km from this old dude so now i'm a speed3 owner :)

There are a few speed guys that are going with 235/40/18. It's not a bad look
if you want it to look good and better grip 235/40/18
personally i run this on my speed 3 245/35/18 and on my speed 6 245/40/18
the wider you go the more grip you get plus it looks insane

I run 245/40/18 but I run an 8.5" wide rim.
