Hey guys,

I just have a couple questions regarding the bose system in my 2007 ms3. Firstly, I have a buddy with an RSX-S with the OEM bose system in it (the RSX-S came with no subwoofer unlike the MS3). When he installed an aftermarket deck in his car the system sounded AMAZING! I'm not an audiophile so if my could sound this good I would be more than satisfied. My question is, do you guys think our Bose system would sound as good or better than the OEM RSX one? I mean, it should cause his car was a 2002 and had no subwoofer (implying it's likely worse). I've heard that changing the deck essentially changes the EQ and allows the sound system to be used to its full potential - does how good the deck I get matter? I won't get something too cheap anyway but I was looking at either a pioneer AVIC or Caska system. Would they both do what I'm looking for?
*note: I heard his rsx system before and after the deck install and the difference was night and day. His system shook the ground around his car post deck install!

Second, I have searched far and low and found many of these Bose fixes posted across many forums. For example: http://www.mazdaspeedforums.org/forum/f13/blose-improvement-cheap-44783/

Only thing is I know absolutely nothing about sound systems and have no idea where the parts go. All the threads I've found have expired images to the actual install and I don't know if I'm ready to attempt screwing with the electrical system in my car with no guide. I was wondering if anyone who's unhappy with their bose system wanted to do the install of the tweeters/capacitor some time or could help me do it? Maybe someone has even done it and could just show me the pics of their install as I don't think it should be too difficult.

I'm not really looking for a crazy sound system, I would be happy with what my buddies RSX-S OEM Bose system + deck did. Best case for me would be a way to change the EQ (if that's what a new deck does) without changing the actual deck as I don't care for nav and other capabilities for now.

My solution was to remove the POS 2" stock 'sub' and added in my Rockford Fosgate amp and sub. It sounds good, but it isn't as good as the same setup in my 2004 3 GT. Subbed in case someone has a better fix...

I think it's a 5" sub, no?
From what I've read this fix is night and day I have just never attempted anything electrical and taking door panels apart and stuff (all that finicky stuff that can snap easily) which is why I was kind of hoping someone else needed to do this as well.

Ill investigaated it more when i get back home (on vacation right now) and if I end up doing it then Ill post pics of the install.
