Loud bang :(

So while driving home i heard this Huge BANG, I didn't hit anything because i didn't feel it and there were no pot holes (i drive this road every day) however the car feels fine.... I have no idea what it could have been.

Any ideas what i should check ?

Motor mount? Maybe it wasn't a noise coming from your car...?

Most likely something in the suspension. Check for leaking shocks/struts? Possibly sway bar links? It sounds odd what you described.

Last time I heard a loud bang was my passenger side motor mount.

praying it's my motor mount as it's an easy fix


if it's my suspension it may be because of my accident but since it was so long ago, hard to prove :(

Checked the mount this morning, it looks fine, it's in pace and no leaking :(


I have no idea what it was. Car runs fine and smooth. No shaking or sounds no nothing... gonna get someone to look at it hopefully today

Wierd...I had something similar happen to me like 2 months ago. I was driving on the 401 at night and heard a bang on the front right of my car, I got off at the next exit as I thought something hit my car. Looked around and could not see anything. Car still drives fine, but I have been thinking recently that my motor mount needs to be replaced. I get some vibes on a 1-2 shift and and sometimes a light lurch starting in 1st.

My guess now is i probably hit a rock or something on the road on the underside of my car
