OK, so I swapped my winter tires for my summer tires today. I went for a test drive around the block and pulled into my driveway. I look down by my back tire and 1 of the weights from my rear passenger rim fell off. So, can/should I glue it back on? If yes, what do I use? Should I just get it balanced since I haven't done so in 5 years?
Thanks for the help. I'm actually not sure how often I should be balancing my tires so I'm asking if it's OK to glue it back on.

Get it balanced
It's only $10 per rim

I would just it re-balanced that and it's been 5 years since balancing was last done

If it fell off on the driveway, how would you know where it goes back?
Take it back to a tire shop to have them rebalance and they will use a new weight. Problem solved.
If you know exatcly where it came off from, a dab of silicone will do as long as it is fairly heat resistent. Red 3M tape will work too.

don't use any of that
those stick on wheel weights uses the foam double sided tape... clean the old tape off first with alcohol... then put the weight back on with that double sided tape
if you don't have that, then it'll cost as much to buy the tape as getting the wheels balanced again.. but let's just hope those lazy pricks at the tire store actually clean the wheel real good before sticking the weights on... that's the reason why it falls off, the wheel wasn't clean enough!

Thanks for the reply guys. I guess I'll give Jimmy from Street Performance a call and get him to balance my tires then.
I could see the place where the weight use to be. There is still residue left behind there. So I thought maybe I could save a few bucks stick it back on or something.
Also, my rims were brand spanking new before I got the tires installed so I would like to think there should not have been any crap on the rims before the weights were stuck on.

Like the OP said, the wheels were brand new, and it was more than 5yrs ago. It's only 2 sided tape man lol

even if they're new, if the surface has oil/grease on it, nothing is going to stick well to it

If it wasn't clean enough, it wouldn't last 5yrs on there.

Common racer's technique is to use a piece of aluminum foil tape over the weight when it's installed. You could do the same since you know exactly where the weight was before it came off.
