hi, i hope I'm not posting same question but i have a 2010 Mazda 3 gt 6 speed manual with only 36000 kms on, it purchased it brand new. when i shift from 3rd to 4th gear, it makes short grind noise, only happens when I'm shifting up. i didn't make any mods to the shifter, i always depress clutch all the way down, is something wrong with the tranny? or is it just the shifter?

please help, any feedback before i take it to the dealer will be appreciated

thanks

Take it to the dealership since you still have powertrain warranty, let one of them figure it out for you.

I read that 2010 had some issues with quick clutch burnout ... hope it's not that !!

If it's clutch then it's not covered under warranty ....

im pretty sure that was just a unique incident where the person just wore the clutch out due to driver error.

I've had the grinding issue from 1-2, but never in the higher gears. I just assumed that there must be a clutch delay valve and I'm heaving the stick from 1-2 too quickly / too early. I find it's not a problem if I rev the car higher so I have more time to slowly go between 1 and 2. (Ironically, 1-2 is the slowest shift just because of waiting for the revs to drop and yet it's the only one I've gotten grinding from. I can go between 3-4 and 5-6 really quickly without any problems.)
