Will this size 225/40/18 5 x 114.3 fit my Mazda 3 I'm buying them of a friend it came out an rsx just wanna make sure

The tire size is right for 18" rims on Mazda fitment
however, The RSX has a smaller centre bore.
So if they are OEM Rims - then no.
If it is aftermarket rims - then maybe (provided the rims have a universal centre bore of 70-73mm)

They are aftermarket I don't wanna buy it and then it doesn't fit but according to that spec will it fit the 2010 Mazda 3

There's more to it than just bolt patterns.
Mazda 3 requires
5x 114.3 bolt pattern
38-48 offset
67.1mm center bore
Tire size also requires no more than a 3% variance in overall diameter compared to OEM
Popular Tire sizing for the 3
195-55-16
205-50-17
215-45-17
225-40-18
I'd be concerned with the centre bore. But can be easily fixed with a 3mm spacer

Question for you! Is Mazda 6 same as Mazda 3? Need to know this before I purchase rims from a broken down Mazda 6.
Thanks,

^ same, but you have a little more clearance compared to the 3, which means you can fit up to 18x10 ;)

Perfect and thank you!
1) where can i buy cheap spacers?
-tony at gofortires or kes at exclusive wheel and tire carry universal 5mm spacers for $10 if i recall correctly
2) will mazda6 rims fit mazda3?
-all mazda rims, with the exception of b2000, fc rx7 and older, fb miata and older, as well as 01 proteges and older, are interchangeable

You can run 205 on a 40 if you really wanted to. Depends in the width of your rims. I believe 205 can be stretched as wide as a 9" rim but you'll probably want a 45 profile to do that.

Well, so much for the rims and tires. Drove from Mississauga and half way towards Pickering got a rude text saying sorry he sold it. He even knew that I was coming to pick it up after work. That really hurts man, time to go shopping around again. If you guys find any deals, I'm willing to drive to pick it up and hopefully someone is kind enough to hold it.

Ya I found it on kijiji, he had a blue mazda 6 but he sold it. He was selling it for 650 with tires and all. I figure that I would save some money since I'm the only person that brings bread and butter home for my 2 kids and wife. Anyways time to shop around again!

nice. if you decide to resell them in the future, you won't take too much of a loss in depreciation!

my only advice would be to do your research carefully; particularly if you decide to go to metal coaters as their preparation, particularly stripping isn't very good.
quy's would be number one choice (but very expensive). another alternative is stripping technologies (good preparation).

If it was really +60 offset and 18x8, you more at risk of rubbing on the inside/fender liner than on the fender when you turn. So roll your fenders? No. Spacers, maybe. Put the rims on the car and do a full turn to test the fitting.

I have a 2008 Mazda 3. Everything is stock. I have been looking for some steel wheels for the winter. I came across some Volvo wheels that look like they'd fit, but I can't say for sure. They are part # 1387534. It says 6Jx15x25 on them. The tires are 185/65R15. They are 5 lug. How do I know if they will fit my Mazda 3? They only want $20 for all 4 wheels and tires, so it's a great deal, but only if they fit of course. Can someone please comment? Thanks.

No they will not fit. On your profile it says you drive a 2008 Mazda 3 GT... The lowest rim size on a GT you can go is 16".

not lowered, the shop recommended me to go 215/45/18, he said if i go 225, he will not guarantee it will not rub.
Is the recommended tire size for 8'' wide rims 225? if i get 215, will the rim kinda stick out more than the tire?
you will not rub with 225/40, lowered or not. you can even go up to 235/40 if you want with no issues.

zzz3 is accurate with the information in his post. 225/40/18 & 205/50/17 have almost the same overall dimensions therefore you will not rub with 225/40s lowered or not. I'm not sure what shop you are visiting but you may want to find a new place to take your car to.

talk to alphamotorsports. i bet they can beat braidan tires price (and or order from the states). mo has access to great shipping rates. then have it installed by one of the many tire shop sponsors on this forum. you want to save as much as you can when it comes to buying new rims/tires (for down the road) because the depreciation on them is high.
