View Full Version : Rattling when stopped in drive

This has probably been happening for the last week or so.

If I put the car in park, it sounds fine. As soon I move to drive with the brake still pressed, there's a slight rattling noise. If I take my foot off the brake and just let it coast, the rattling also stops. Driving normally otherwise from what I can tell.

I have an appointment next week for an oil change so I'll bring it up then too. Think it's anything to worry about?

the heat shield can cause some rattling noises if it's loose. when you go in for an oil change just ask them to tighten it down.

Roughly where is the rattle coming from? I think I might have had a similar issue

It sounds like it's coming from the passenger side along the bottom. But very hard to tell as I have to be in the car to hear it! Guess I could put the e-brake on.

I think it's a sign from the heavens to start modding. ;)

Being a 2006 I would also suspect one of the heat shields has come loose. Let them deal with it while it is up on the hoist for the oil change unless you are mechanically inclined to deal with it yourself by crawling under.
