So i was driving to work & Needed to switch lanes yet this ******* wouldn't let me get in & i was getting tailgated, so cant slowdown. So Stupidly I PUSHED MY 2006 MAZDA 3 GT TO IT'S LIMIT ALL THE WAY TO 7 Rpm. speed up and after crossing like 4 cars finally switched. After work I start my car & notice the following problems

1) Head lights Seem to Be Lower than usual
2) Headlights get dimmed sometimes literally turn off. when i turn the steering wheel, while in parked.
3) check Engine Light is On
4) Under the hood, right beside the Engine on the right side (seems to be something like an alternator) Is making squeeking/Whistling noise, which gets louder as I use up more RPM while pressing the gas when driving.

Now realizing that I'm an idiot for pushing my car to her limit. I would like to know how serious are the problems & whats it gonna take for me to get it fixed?

bad alternator

probably this, but a bad alternator wouldnt necessarily give a CEL

there is no harm in pushing your car to its limits. However if the car has been baby driven since 2006 then when you pushed the car it saw numbers in the computer it's never seen before. Depending on how you drive the car normally (long trips or short trips) and how well you keep up on the maintenance can all play a roll
Sounds like you have a bad alternator or battery, but get your code checked first. Then I would test the battery and see were it stands. If its still the original I would think of changing that out first, especially if you do lots of short trips.

it can
the regulator is in the ECU and not the alternator in these cars
there's actually 3 codes related to the alternator in fact!
