Hey guys, I'm piecing together my summer set up still. And my next step is rubber.

I don't wanna cheap out on something this important for my car. So I'm ready to spend sme money on tires.

My question is:is anyone here running nankang tires? More specifically the NS-2 tire .

I have heard good reviews from them, just wanted to hear some more personal opinions.

It's an entry level tire
Not familiar with the model#, but As long as its for DD use and not track - you'll be fine.

Yes these would be for a DD, and I'm not saying I'm stuck on these tires, just one option I have.

Cheap Chinese tires. One of the better Chinese tho.

If you aren't worried about low cost, you can get better. What size and price are you looking at?

These tires aren't bad at all. One rep says they're the Michelin of China lol.

That's what I'm using right now and no complaints. There definitely are way better tires though. If you're on a budget there won't be anything else that'll beat it for the price.

By buying Nankang or other chinese tires, you are cheaping out. They are not quality tires. I personally had bad experience with them and a co-worker who had a set as well had a bad experience.
If you are looking for the best cheapest option, they might be ok, but if like me you believe that tires are an important part of your car (safety) I would suggest you spend a few more dollars on a set.

They are fine for daily. Buy it. Dont overspend on tires for a Mazda.

Thanks for all the feedback guys, first let me clarify that only reason I brought nankang up was because I got a offer for them and wanted to hear some feedback first. And yes this is purely from a safety point of view-I'm not trying to be Jenson button or anything lol. I'm going to be stretching a 205-40-17 on 9" rim, soooo I want something good and reliable.

Perhaps for a regular Mazda3... but Mazda speed is different animal :)

I am currently using China tyres as well, and they are not bad.

decent wet performance and dry handling.

Cannot complain if I am getting a set for $280 in 205/50R17

If you have a summer and a winter set do NOT be afraid to spend coin on your tires. Regular 3 or speed 3 doesn't make a difference. Do your self a favor buy a proper set of tires

AGREED! I get not buying $1000 15" tires, but don't get the bottom of the barrel stuff. The price between junk a solid stuff is a couple hundred, and most people have no issues spending that on a couple dinners out, some mods etc. Do yourself a favour and invest in the one thing holding your car to the ground.

Agreed with the 2 previous posts. That is the plan as well. Once I figure out what I'm getting i'll post them up

TI'm going to be stretching a 205-40-17 on 9" rim

that's a quite the stretch....even the best tires in the world could put you in trouble with that set up

but I've ran Nankang tires before, no issues. For a daily driver, just something to roll around town on they are fine. Anything more and I'd look elsewhere

Tons of people into the fitment scene and do huge stretches run Nankangs. Don't be scared.

I had NS2s on all my non-turbo cars for years (they last a long time lol). They are fantastic tires for the price. Do not use them in winter, they are a SUMMER tire. They're probably not the best if you're tracking your car, as the amount of grip isn't the most amazing (higher treadlife generally means lower grip), but for a DD they are wonderful.

You would have to easily spend double to get a better tire for your buck.

On top of all that, they look fantastic :)
